Introduction:
At Winners First Trading Limited, and our division OCTO Regulatory, we are committed to providing exceptional trading support and representation tailored to your specific needs. Our UK representative services are designed to ensure a seamless and successful trading experience.
What is a UK Responsible Person?
A UK Responsible Person (UKRP) is a legal requirement for non-UK manufacturers who wish to place medical devices on the UK market.
A UK Responsible Person (UKRP) acts on behalf of the manufacturer to ensure compliance with UK regulations for medical products and plays an essential role for manufacturers who wish to place medical devices or in vitro diagnostic (IVD) devices on the UK market post-Brexit.
The UKRP represents the manufacturer to ensure compliance with the UK's regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities include:
- Registering the manufacturer and their devices with the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
- Managing device registrations and renewals.
- Notifying the MHRA of the manufacturer's UK importers.
- Acting as the point of contact between the manufacturer and the MHRA.
- Ensuring the manufacturer has conducted the appropriate conformity assessment process and possesses the relevant technical documentation.
This role became mandatory after Brexit, as the UK no longer recognises EU Authorised Representatives for medical devices.
